Georgie Morrell is a comedian, writer, presenter and actor.
Georgie has performed two solo shows, A Poke In The Eye and The Morrell High Ground, at the Edinburgh Fringe: A Poke In The Eye transferred to Soho Theatre. Georgie has performed both shows at various festivals around the UK including Brighton Fringe and Leicester Comedy Festival. Georgie has been commissioned by The New Theatre Wolsey, Ipswich, for her third show, Eyecon, which premiered at The Vault Festival in 2018. Georgie's credits include 5 live with Emma Barnett (BBC Radio 5 Live), BBC Ouch Storytelling Live: Relationships (BBC iPlayer), 5 News (Channel 5), and the BBC Radio 4 drama Jayne Lake for which she was nominated for a BBC Audio Award for Best Debut Performance. Georgie is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post. She has also written for the RNIBs Insight magazine and has featured in Time Out and Metro. Georgie is a regular on panel discussions as a disability advocate as well as being an ambassador for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC). Georgies writing work has been shortlisted for the BBC Comedy Writers Room and long-listed for the Funny Women Writing Award.
