Ellie Pollard has only been performing stand-up comedy for 9 months, but her likeable yet slightly awkward stage presence and quirky quick wit has definitely made her one to watch. Based in Sheffield, Ellie has co-founded her own comedy club (The Comedy Hose) where she is also a resident performer, occasional compere and promoter. At only 21 years old and freshly graduated from the University of Manchester, Ellie is looking to dedicate her time to exploring and impacting on the comedy world. As well as comedy, Ellie is also a musician (vocals and guitar) and has be played an acoustic set as part of Tramlines Festival.
Chiefly, Ellie performs observational and anecdotal types of comedy, leaning on her experience as a struggling student and life as chronically single young adult. Her comedy is on topic and relatable to all, but especially to young adults. Topics include adult acne, part-time employment, generally trying to be a good person as well as much much more. She has also begun developing musical comedy, both parodies and originals and often infuses physical comedy in to her routines to give hilariously animated performances. She is flexible in her content and style so can adapt her performance to any occasion and conversely, nothing is out of bounds.
