Manchester Comedy Store Gong show Got thru the 5mins

On this night it was an absolute bear pit, everybody being heckled left right and centre. in the video you can't hear the audience but their very vocal! I'm number 11 in the first half and each comedian is heckled a lot. some comedians rip into the audience in anger and get booed off, others just get booed off, some managed to get thru. I'm sitting there on a conveyer belt of comedians waiting my turn, thinking how do I pacify the audience long enough to tell a few jokes! Thats when the "I'm not racist,,but..." line forms in my mind. I figured if it works then it will confuse them long enough for me to talk. It worked they shut up for about 20secs from the confusion me thinks! The rest of the 5mins went really quickly.
