That thing at my grandma’s house was a small version of the famous Belgian statue Mannekin Pis, or as we nicknamed him, “Pee Boy.” My grandma’s house had the best diving board, the best pool, and this awesome area to have family gatherings. It was a core memory location of my childhood and all that time, Pee Boy sat in the corner doing his job. It was something I grew up with some it didn’t make me thing it was odd until I was older - then it became a family legend. Grandma’s pool was the place where all of us cousins became friends and to honor that, I shot this at my cousin, @ginnahendricks , pool while visiting her in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as she does her best to continue the family tradition of diving board contests. This is the seventh episode of a True Story Drawn Badly. I wrote the theme song, drew everything, edited it all, and did not use any generative AI to do so. Helping me write and produce these is my creative partner (and wife), Nancy Randle.
