Sinbad in 2026: Still Can’t Walk, Back on Stage, and Playing the Ice House on 22 November

Sinbad still cannot walk six years after his October 2020 stroke and, as of April 2026, primarily gets around in a wheelchair. He is performing stand-up again. His next listed show is Sunday 22 November 2026, 7pm to 8.30pm, in the Ice House Legendary Room at 24 N Mentor Ave, Pasadena, at $30 a seat.
What is Sinbad’s health like in 2026?
He cannot walk. That’s his own account, given twice this year. Atlanta Black Star reported in April 2026 that he primarily gets around via wheelchair, and that his comeback announcement video was filmed seated. In early May BlackNews.com wrote that “He said he still cannot walk following the stroke, but plans to perform at the Comedy Ice House in Pasadena on May 10th.” Beyond that, nothing.
Nobody has filled that gap and I’m not about to. What people want to know is whether they can see him and whether he’s alright, and those two sit on wildly different amounts of evidence: the first has a ticketing page behind it, the second has only what he has chosen to say about his own body.
Where is Sinbad performing next, and how do you get tickets?
Sunday 22 November 2026, 7pm, the Ice House Legendary Room in Pasadena. The Leap Events listing has it running 7:00pm to 8:30pm PST, with seats at $30.00 plus a $1.50 service fee. A “VIP MEET & GREET w/SINBAD” is available as a $25 add-on. It’s “21+ only with a 2 item minimum per seat in showroom”. That’s two items per seat on top of your $31.50 before you’ve laughed once.
The listing gives the window as 7:00pm to 8:30pm. In April his daughter Paige Bryan and his longtime opener Chase Anthony were on the bill with him, per The Q Gentleman, which is the sort of billing structure we got into when we looked at how support acts get paid and credited.
He played the same Legendary Room on Sunday 13 September 2026, a 7pm show with 6pm doors at $30, also 21+, according to the Playhouse Village Association’s listing. Two dated Sundays in the same room, ten weeks apart, at the same price. Call it a pattern if you like; Dead-Frog’s aggregator currently lists exactly one upcoming date, “Sunday | November 22”.

Two clots, and nine months before he got home
NBC News laid out the medical sequence in its November 2022 report: the 25 October 2020 stroke from a clot that moved from his heart to his brain, then “he suffered another blood clot the next day, so he underwent the same surgery again”. The recovery was slower than most coverage suggests – “It would be weeks before he would open his eyes, speak, or show signs of basic mobility.” He went into the California Rehabilitation Institute in May 2021 and, per the same report, “On July 7, 2021, nearly nine months after the initial stroke, Sinbad finally came home.”
In the family’s November 2022 update, reported by NBC News, “Limbs that were said to be ‘dead’ are coming alive and he’s taking the steps necessary to learn to walk again.” The same month, the family told ET Online that the money side was brutal – “The costs of therapy far exceed what insurance covers and it has taken its toll on the family financially” – and asked for donations to the Adkins Trust. ET Online, reporting on that same site, quoted it calling his progress “nothing short of remarkable.” The appeal dates from November 2022, which is worth remembering before anyone recirculates the fundraising framing as current.
Sinbad himself said this, in that 2022 update:
I am not done. I will not stop fighting until I can walk across the stage again.
He has not, by his own 2026 account, walked across it, though he has got onto it. The public steps in between are thin: March 2024, when he said on social media he was still recovering but attempting a comeback, and a video the same month in which he told fans, “Those words are important and I feel it. I feel those prayers.” At the 2024 Netflix Is A Joke tribute in Los Angeles, Atlanta Black Star reported, “The crowd applauded as he walked out.” Then acting before stand-up – he played Benny in Tyler Perry’s Straw opposite Taraji P. Henson in 2025, which is a camera job and a very different ask from a club room where the audience can see your timing fail in real time.
What a comeback actually looks like on a booking sheet
One club, one room, Sundays at 7pm, thirty dollars: that’s the whole visible structure, and for a name of Sinbad’s size it’s an unusually small and sensible one – the opposite of the announcement-tour reflex, where a comic back from anything books twenty cities and discovers in Cleveland that the body doesn’t hold up.
He announced it in a video filmed seated, saying plainly that he cannot walk. Then he came back with his daughter and his longtime opener on the bill: he announced it in a video filmed seated, saying he cannot walk, and came back with his daughter Paige Bryan and his longtime opener Chase Anthony on the bill, into a room he could repeat. Anyone who has ever had to climb back onto a stage after it went badly – and we’ve written about getting back up after bombing, which is a far smaller problem than this one – will recognise the shape of that: a familiar room, with people you trust on the bill.
One practical note for anyone planning the trip: the Leap listing’s two-item minimum is per seat, not per table, so a pair of tickets is $63 before you’ve ordered four things. If you’re after other names playing while you’re in town, our comedians directory is the faster way to check than the club calendars one at a time.
In early May 2026 BlackNews.com reported that he still could not walk following the stroke but planned to perform at the Comedy Ice House in Pasadena on 10 May. Atlanta Black Star reported on 30 April 2026 that he said he cannot walk in his announcement video, which was filmed seated. The 22 November date is the only upcoming one the comedy tour-date aggregator lists.
