I was born after a planned home birth by my parents on my mom's birthday on October 26th, 1985; A near Halloween birthday. During my home birth, while waiting for the midwife, my mom took charge like a sergeant, and instructed my dad to look under her and told him to "get ready to catch the baby because he's coming!"
My dad was hysterical but he complied and successfully he caught me. That was the year of Pete Rose's Great Hit to break Ty Cobb's batting record and my dad's great catch. The midwife arrived 15 minutes late, which put me in a state of emergency... which has never ended..
