Maberly opened well with a callback to Page’s set and never really looked back from here. The first half of her set was mostly sexual jokes, with Filf being the standout. After a couple of minutes of these, I did begin to wonder if this was it for her whole set, but she changed direction and spoke about her kid. It was nice to see this variety and there were some cracking jokes here. The audience thoroughly enjoyed Maberly’s set and I felt she was very impressive. For her final minute, she gave the room three quick gags that landed well. I rather thought that she was going to be a challenger for the top spot, but she wasn’t as well supported in the vote off as I expected her to be.

I saw Maberly a while ago and she had had a very good gig and was just as good tonight, better in fact. The dog comparison was fine, although there may be room for a line about getting a bone. Celibacy and the development of it was spot on, she received applause for youth speak and she received applause for speaking to young Freddy. Maberly made the final without any trouble.
