Bill Bill

Born Roberto Duran Isom after my father’s favorite boxer. Mother changed it to just Duran Isom shortly after birth. My nickname is Bill, but my community calls me Bill Bill from childhood. My stage name was originally Unkle Bill for the past 15 years, but after age has set in I didn’t want to get it confused with Uncle Ben the Rice guy. I am an Actor, Comic, Poet, and Army veteran. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 25 years, 3 children, 2 in college one in high school, with a plethora of life experiences that make my routine different each time I’m on stage. While I have began doing comedy 20 plus years, I have been performing comedy consistently and seriously for only about 8 years. I began performing comedy at around the same time as Kevin Hart began to blow up. Our styles were similar and so many would compare and say you’re like the next Kevin Hart. So I began to watch him and see just how similar our styles were but just how good he was and of course how much work I needed to do. My routine consists of my many obstacles in marriage life, church, sex, parenthood and many career moves. While my sets are mostly clean I like to tread the line on the raunchy side as well.
