Featherstone started performing comedy on the Scottish Cabaret and Vaudeville circuit in 2015, and has since developed an enthusiastic cult following. His profound Glasgow Comedy Festival shows - "Carved from Ape" (2017) and "Whelk Ham Tomb Eye Toybox" (2018) - were seen and enjoyed by people.

"Middlesbrough sketch-pros Heavy Petting put on a wacky and fast-paced comedy sketch show complete with a weird fetish for Batman, hitting people with hammers and totally authentic hip hop. It's mad-cap oddness with big laughs and fat grins."
★★★★ BROADWAY BABY
"Heavy Petting is a thoroughly entertaining comedy sketch show performed by five friends from Middlesbrough. This funny five-some throw in some witty acoustic sing-songs and several interesting props including a rubber hammer and a severed human head. With some exceptional acting, plenty of light hearted humour and some clever satirical quips "“ this lively and unique sketch show will certainly have you leaving feeling wickedly uplifted."

After attending the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, I have been completely inspired by alternative comedy. Coined in the 1980's London comedy scene, the term alternative comedy refers to comedy which retaliates against the mainstream through both its structure and content. As a theatre practitioner I have been incorporating this style into my work. Inspired by the work of Leeds based company Uncanny Theatre, I will present an argument to why the potential of alternative comedy needs to be recognised by scholars and practitioners alike. Restident comedian at A.C.I.D. Creator of weird shit with Halli Galli.
