Every once in a while a great comic comes onto the stage..well here I amGet ready to laugh and be entertained by the one and only UnPaquito, also known as Paco Zamora! Born and raised on the Central Coast of California, Paco was bitten by the performing bug at a young age and hasn't stopped since. He made his debut at his Oceano preschool recital with a hilarious rendition of “La Rata Vieja Planchadora” and continued to shine in various productions throughout his school years.
After studying under acting coach Bonnie Forward and Comic Michael Passerelli, Paco moved to Los Angeles where he dabbled in small parts, extra work, modeling, and even became an Associate Producer on “Nuestra Vida en USA with Marianna.” But it was in Chicago where Paco truly found his comedic voice, studying at the renowned iO Comedy Theater and performing at iconic venues like the Laugh Factory and Chicago Pride Festivities.
Paco's one man show “Mijo, Tales of my Mexican Mama” premiered in the Windy City before he eventually made his way back to California, where he adopted the stage name UnPaquito and began performing at comedy shows throughout the Central Coast including the Santa Barbara Pride Comedy Festival. His unique and hilarious brand of comedy is a mix of his experiences growing up Chicano and gay, dating, and getting older.
But it's not just about making people laugh for UnPaquito. In the middle of a global pandemic, he teamed up with fellow comedian Sal España to create The Laugh Therapy Stand-Up Comedy Show, a comedy playground that celebrates community, compassion, and laughter. The show premiered in August 2021 and continues to spread joy to audiences near and far.
