Bio:
Samir is a Chicago based comedian. He is originally from Sudan but ended up moving to Egypt at a very young age and then eventually moved to America during his teens. His sense of comedy comes from traveling and getting exposed to different cultures and backgrounds. He grew up getting exposed Sudanese comedy, Egyptian comedy, and eventually American comedy. So, comedy became a way for him to relate to others and share his story of surviving a civil war. One of his quotes is “We didn't leave Sudan to escape from the war, no no, we left because Sudan didn't have KFC.â€
He started his standup comedy journey at the Rock Island Speakeasy right graduating from Augustana College. Since then, he had the privilege to perform with the likes of Alex Hooper and Sohrab Forouzesh.
