I'm a storytelling comic.

I've been doing live gigs since January 2022, and I've done over 150 gigs so far, making rapid progress.
I've won two Funhouse Comedy Gong Shows and deemed 'Best Act' at Frog Box open night and booked on a pro bill.
I've done TribFest in August, I have gigged at Hotwater Comedy Club numerous times including a 10 spot on a Sunday bill. I've also appeared at Laughienda, ROFL, FunHouse Comedy (finalist), I've Beat the Frog and done gigs throughout the UK and Germany.
My background is in journalism and I'm also a published author. I've written a number screenplays and was one of the winners of the Northern Film School Short Script Competition in 2017. They made my film and it premiered at Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds. So technically I've had a movie on the big screen.
I was also chosen to appear on The Moth main stage in 2020 after they picked my story Six Million Dollar Heist after I left a sample on The Moth answering machine in New York. Due to Covid it was on Zoom to a worldwide audience. And on September 26th I read the a story at a huge event at Union Chapel in London on The Moth Mainstage.
I've also had short stories broadcast on BBC Radio.
McDonnell was probably the most nicely odd act of the show. He mixes rock solid down to earth observations with a dose of surrealism and the end result is surprisingly powerful. McDonnell was compelling listening and I'd like to see him again. He made it through to the final with ease. - Notts Comedy Review
