Amber Phillips
Amber was selected as a finalist in the British Comedy Guide Performance Awards 2021. Nevertheless, her greatest achievement came at the age of 11, when she was crowned champion in her high school spelling bee. Still basking in the glow of this triumph, Amber finds most things in adult life rather difficult.
She has written for Radio 4 Extra and also hosts her own sketch comedy podcast, The Amber Phillips Comedy Sketchbook. The podcast has gained a loyal online following and features regularly on BBC Essex.
Amber’s comedy style has been dubbed ‘intelligent’ and ‘articulate’, a description which made her spit out her drink when she heard it. When she takes to the stage, you can expect warm observational musings and madcap tales about life in her beloved Essex, all delivered with a generous dose of sparkle, a slick of pink lipstick and an air of general bewilderment.
