Corrections Policy

Open Comedy aims to publish accurate, well-sourced reporting. When we get something wrong, we want to know about it and fix it openly.

How to report an error

Email corrections@opencomedy.com with:

  • The URL of the article in question.
  • A short description of what is incorrect.
  • If possible, a link to a primary source supporting the correction.

How we handle corrections

  • Factual errors (wrong dates, names, figures, or attributions) are corrected as soon as we have verified the issue. We add a brief correction note to the foot of the article describing what was changed and when.
  • Clarifications (statements that are technically accurate but easy to misread) are added without changing the body text, with a clarification note at the foot of the article.
  • Substantial reworks (where a core claim turns out to be wrong) are flagged at the top of the article in addition to a correction note. In rare cases we may unpublish a piece while we re-report it.

What we do not do

We do not silently edit published articles. If wording changes after publication for a substantive reason, the change is logged on the page.

Timing

Most corrections are processed within one working day of the report. Complex cases may take longer; we will reply to the reporter to keep them informed.
